Ben was apparently born with a clogged tear duct. It happens to a lot of kids, but it was the first time any of my kids have had this problem. Essentially it means that his left eye is always goopy and gross. There isn’t a lot that can be done about it (massaging the inner part of the eye where it meets the nose), but it will likely go away on its own in a few more weeks. Every once in awhile I have hope that it is clearing up – like this one solitary tear that fell the other day.
I just feel bad for him because no matter how gentle I am the inside and outside corners always look really tender. He doesn’t seem to mind much, but it makes me feel bad for the little peanut.
