Open up and say "Ahhh"

Zander had his first visit to the dentist today and he did awesome. The whole crew (me, Nick and Ben) all traipsed back into the exam room with him but I really think he could have done it all by himself. I stood at the foot of the chair (only place left to stand) while the hygienist and dentist did their work. He never once whined or even really looked nervous about the whole ordeal. It was such a different experience than when Nick first visited the dentist when I had to hold his hand through the entire check-up.

The hygienist let him touch the tooth polisher while it was spinning.

Then she counted, cleaned and flossed his teeth.

The dentist came in and "counted" his teeth again (checked for cavities). The dentist did say he has an overbite (blamed it on the pacifier), and that braces might be in the future. I'm not going to worry just yet.

Then he got a new toothbrush, floss and a Diego sticker. Much better than the Little Critter book where the dentist hands out suckers. Really? What dentist is going to do that?

As for Nick, he's come a long way! Today he went into the room all by himself. And he didn't even really balk at the idea of it. I can't believe how much he has grown up in the last year.
