Baby Q
It's amazing how fast one can forget just how tiny newborn babies are. After chasing around my brutuses all day it was kind of fun to see Baby Q. Despite quite a few smooshed face or cross-eyed photos I did find at least one on my first quick glance through to show you guys tonight. I hope you like it.

Only 3 months behind
We celebrated Zander's first birthday this weekend and I have yet to get any of his 9 month photos edited really until tonight. I just wasn't all that happy with any of them, but felt I should probably put them out there for posterity if nothing else.

When little brothers attack
In just 11 short months Zander has learned that sometimes he has to fend for himself. Nick loves him dearly most of the time, but sometimes, he just gets into his face and won't leave him alone. And that's usually when Zander attacks --- he comes at Nick mouth wide open with a crazy baby yell in his throat.
Unfortunately, he has also taken to doing this on occassion when Nick isn't provoking him. And this time, it didn't end up so pretty. I picked the boys up from Robin's on Wednesday and she told me that Nick was pretty much minding his own business when Zander made a beeline for him and chomped down --- on his jaw. It was already several hours later and the mark was still pretty nasty looking.
Looks like I've got my work cut out for me with this one.

Already slacking
It's not even the end of January and I am already slacking at putting up new pictures. I swear, I am taking them. I just rarely get around to actually editing and posting any. The biggest thing eating up my time lately is painting the bedroom. It's been almost a year since we had to tear down the wall because of the ice dam and I am just now getting around to painting. It looks good, it is just taking forever because the room is so dang big.

So, here are just a few of the boys. Zander is eating like a hog these days. He wants absolutely nothing to do with baby food and will only eat finger foods. I swear, there are nights he out eats his brother and I am worried he might explode. Thankfully, he has four teeth (three on bottom, one on top) so he doesn't have a problem with most things. Thanks to his horrible mother, one of his favorite foods is a McDonald's cheeseburger. Go figure --- my kid likes fast food. It's in his blood.
He is also getting very close to walking. He took one step the other night before falling flat on his face, but it's only a matter of time. He cruises the furniture constantly and will let go and then lunge forward. He just forgets to move his feet. Bathtime is getting a little easier now that the bathroom is at least functional again (I won't say done because we still have some work left). Zander loves the tub, but I think Nick really misses playing in there by himself. Now he's constantly having to look out for his brother.
Nick is just being a typical three year old. His attitude doesn't come across nearly as well in photos as it does in video. Man, does that kid have a mouth on him. His favorite word right now is "Fine" which drives me nuts. I can imagine he's only going to get mouthier though!

My very own Handy Manny
My mom got this geeky Handy Manny costume for Nick for his birthday. She knew it was geeky, I knew it was geeky, but we also knew Nick would love it. He was having a rough morning Monday since his dad left for South Carolina bright and early so when Handy Manny came on TV we pulled this bad boy out and let him have some fun. He only wore it for about 10 minutes, but it was cute while it lasted. He loved matching the tools in his toolbox with the ones on TV.

More for Josh
I looked through the ones with the bass (at least I am hoping this is the bass :)) tonight and came across a few I could show you. Nothing mindblowing, but decent. The only problem is the one in the church foyer (in front of the windows) I wouldn't order any bigger than a wallet should you like it. The lighting in there made me adjust my setting wonky and the photo is very grainy and just not likely going to be good at even an 8x10. The rest should be fine regardless.

A fresh start
I know that a picture a day is a pretty lofty goal for me, but I am going to try my hardest to get at least a picture a week posted. Most days, it will probably be a snapshot and I am OK with that. I realized that I have tons of mediocre photos of Nick but hardly any pictures of Zander. It seems as though once I learned what I was doing with my camera I hated to take pictures unless they were perfect. This year, I vow to remember that capturing the daily memories is just as important as capturing the "perfect" photograph.
It was a pretty lazy day around our house, but after dinner Mike got creative with the Thomas the Train tracks and connected all of Nick's TakeAlong sets together. This was the first time Nick really seemed to enjoy playing with the trains along the track. Usually he just pushes the buttons that make noise and crashes the trains into each other.
