This is how he rolls

In his PJs and without shoes. But it’s OK because he’s cute.

Flyin’ high

On Halloween our wonderful neighbors always give the boys a little goody bag filled with peanut-free candy and some little trinkets. This year, in addition to the candy and skeletons and spider rings and bats, they also gave the boys two balloon pumps and package of balloons that they had bought for their youngest son but never used. They weren’t sure if the balloons would still work, but figured our boys could give them a try. Well, with our unseasonably warm weather we decided this was the perfect weekend to give them a try. And boy did they work. And boy did the boys love them!

Nick had to test how big he could go. We broke a couple this way.

Then we watched them fly.

Even Ben, who was still in his PJs, got in on the fun.

And eventually our neighbor, the one who gave them to the boys, had to come over to check it out. She had heard the boys laughing and wanted to see for herself.

Nick tried to take her out.

Look how high they can go. One even got stuck in that tree clear at the end of the street. The bright orange in the crook of the tree is the balloon.

balloon3

See the orange almost right in the middle of the picture. That’s the balloon. And that’s the tall tree from the previous picture.

And this is what makes me love this kid so much. That smile might be the best thing I have ever seen.

Our future

If this is the face of our future I think we should probably be scared.

Alternative title: This is your brain on Spongebob. God I hate that cartoon.

Vroom

This little boy is infatuated with anything that he can make go. He will walk and crawl around the house pushing anything with wheels and making a “car” noise. Cutest thing ever.

Endless ideas

This kid has an infinite number of ideas floating through his little head. It could be why he never stops talking. It could also be why there are always toys scattered all over my house, because when this kid says he’s still playing with it, he’s usually not lying. He almost always comes back to his little set-ups on more than one occasion. Not sure what he is doing here, but that is a Little People garage (made for, well, little people), borrowed Power Rangers (thanks Joni and Dalton) and a whole lot of Hot Wheels. It looks like the Power Ranger is saving the motocross rider who is stuck on top of the elevator/helipad.

My kind of concert

The boys put on a little show for us tonight. I think this might be the best concert I’ve seen yet.

Even Ben got into the action. It’s like the Partridge Family around here.

And what family band would be complete without a solo from the patriarch?

And when the show was over Nick informed us that he would be next door (in his room) signing autographs and taking pictures. Of course I couldn’t miss a chance to get up close and personal with the best rock stars of my time.
